Satanic Warmaster [2022]           Aamongandr

After an eight-year break, Satanic Warmaster treated us with his sixth album, which I must admit is a very solid release. Aamongandr is melodic, fast, with expressive Werwolf vocals. Thirty-six minutes of fast tempo and almost breathless percussion make this album a grueling half-hour marathon. During these less than 40 minutes, however, there are moments for a short breath, as in, for example, the second reeking epic piece Duke's Ride. However, in Darkness... Triumphator, I can't keep stamping my foot under that blast running through the whole track. New drummer Grond had some work to do with this material. In some moments there are keyboards and ok, no problem with that, and in some I have the impression that they are deliberately trimmed, so that there are not too many of them, so as not to exaggerate, for example in the aforementioned Darkness ... The final album gives us the desired release (despite the still galloping double foot), as well as slightly perceptible storm keys. To sum up, it is a good material, for which we had to wait a long time.

Molde - is a group originally from Ireland. It's 2003 to 2011 a group is formed, which has a break and in 2017 records the second material The line-up changes quite often and the only one left on the battlefield is Ollie Ver. Until then, they record two materials: Molde EP 2010, Cursed Coven / Molde 2017 split with the Polish group Cursed Coven. The Messenger 2019 full album, with another new line-up. This time only Ollie remained and he was joined by: Lord Darkstorm from the Polish Darkstorm group from Warsaw. Together they create music, which results in: Shroud Of The Necromancer (2022). Albums available and released by: in the Underground Black Metal category, and if so, judge for yourself and I invite you to familiarize yourself with this unusual music with a hint of the unknown. I highly recommend to fans of old style !

Black Moon zine # 6

The black/death metal  band OFENZA was formed in 2009 as a parallel project to ILLAPA  with Manuel Perqan (vocals) and Dark Desires (guitars/bass) .After several  rehearsals  the band released his demo I called “Perro Metal Negro!!! ”. In 2019 that demo is dusted off and edited in sacred tape format (DIY version) by BLOODY CROSS PROD. having great reception and being distributed on international  labels such as Nuclear War Now Prod., Iron Bonehead Prod., Life Eternal Prod. among others.  The same 2019  the record label BLACK LEGION Rec. (Per) re edited the cassette again in pro tape cardboard matte box, selling all copies in a short  time , so  in 2021  Black Legion  decides to re edit again it now in a Split CD  Ofenza / Illapa  entitled "Perversa Deidad" having  great reception to date. In 2022 the band decided to reactivate again and began rehearsing  for the second demo, so in July of the same year  BLOODY CROSS PROD. released a limited version of the demo “Bestias del Pecado” in tape format (DIY version) containing 4 songs of  intense black/death metal  like  OFENZA already knows how to do , few copies left for sale and soon to be reissued by Fallen Temple Prod.

After 17 years, Marcus released a new album. Ancient Wisdom - Marcus E. Norman, veteran of the Swedish black metal scene, member of Naglfar and Bewitched.
For us, they are not only one of the most iconic bands of the 90s and the beginning of the 21st century, but also one of the first artists who settled under the name of Avantgarde Music already in 1993.

Formed by Norman in Umeå, Sweden under the name Ancient in 1992 as a full band, Ancient recorded their demo tape In the Eye of the Serpent. In 1993, the name was changed to Ancient Wisdom, and a second demo tape, Through Rivers of the Eternal Blackness, was recorded, after which the band signed a record deal with Avantgarde Music. In 1994, the debut album For Snow Covered the Northland was recorded, which was released in 1996, and at that time Marcus decided to continue the project on his own.

Between 1997-2004 Ancient Wisdom recorded and released three other albums: The Calling (1997), ...and the Physical Shape of Light Bled (2000) and Cometh Doom, Cometh Death (2004) before entering a seventeen-year hiatus. .

A Celebration in Honor of Death, the fifth full-length album, a return after such a long time, shows the craftsmanship that even the Norwegian Dimmu Borgir cannot boast of and it's a pity, Marcus once again proves to us that he is a great musician, a creator with class, not fallible and his album opens a new chapter but being a continuation of the path he chose a long time ago. If you miss this album, you will lose the feeling of the darkness that has always lasted and accompanies us. This album is a complex element of 4 elements - water, air, fire and earth.
The disc, as I checked, is available on Ebay, I invite you to buy it, which will not turn out to be wasted.                                                  I highly recommend record !

Seducer 2023

Black Metal group from Poland founded in 2018,
released 3 albums in the same company: Godz ov War Productions.
All with great success.

Profeci - Ubóstwo
year 2023 the album contains 6 tracks.
Half an hour of Pure Black Metal, no unnecessary intro or outro,
straight from the musician's hooves.
The last issue - Dytyramb - like Lucifugum, captivated me. '' Bez niej bylbym niczym '' - my favourite.
From the north I would compare it to Enslaved but it is a Polish new style in a positive sense, at a very high level.

A group that created its style from the very beginning. Technical playing.
Vocal may be mistakenly associated with Behemoth,
but this is a mistake. Listen to the music,
the style of playing and the riffs,
and you will realize that this is Slavic playing.
Reminds me personally of a blast of old Lucifugum.

At the beginning, I must admit that it was the first time I met this group, although I had already done an interview in a magazine. I quite liked the music on the new, fresh album, there are some inserts before the songs, but the guitars do their job. I really like the sound, solidly recorded in a good studio. A Czech group of a very high level, which I recommend taking a look at. It's the first album, but I assure you it won't be your last. You can hear that the musicians put all their heart, time and soul into it. It will be nice if you support the group by buying the album. My personal number is: ''Ved' mne'' but don't be guided by my opinion. Rating 10/8 so as not to confuse the group. I'm waiting for the new album!

Interview 3. Blood Circle # 2 | Blood Circle Zine (oblivicus.wixsite.com)

10 songs covering Napoleonic Era to First and Second World Wars . Military sounds intertwined with Black Metal reflect the entire atmosphere, the intention of the author and performer. IN my opinion MG08 album 7.92 its very awesome and kick ass.
Listening the album fell like the riffs are perfect sound for this album . The drums sound like a  tank rolling around in your head,  and the vocal are harsh, angry and just perfect for the sound on this album...
VERY, very , good music  🤘🤘. I sincerely recommend it to fans of this type of music, and below is a link to an interview with the author!

Satanic Empire - Rise of the Empire 2024y.

The jet engine intro followed by a high speed assault of chainsaw guitars and pummeling drums told me it was time to strap in and hold on as I prepared to listen to Rise Of The Empire by Satanic Empire, in league with MG08. The songwriting devotes little time to catchy hooks and grooves, the war metal onslaught continues unrelentingly through these 12 tracks of mayhem. It’s like spinning a Sarcofago Lp at 45rpm! For fans of Beherit, a couple standout songs that would make it into playlist along side Blasphemophager, Revenge, and Bestial Warlust are Total Extinction, Legions Attack, and Enemy of Mine…. A track where the vocals really take hold and deliver is Great Ba’alzebulb, where I imagine cold damp stone walls inside their recording bunker. I had to start this track over a couple times so I could lean back in my chair to raise a clenched hand as the deep sardonic laugh summons darkness midway through the song. The vocals use very heavy and varied effects, which is generally to the albums benefit, but at times they do feel incessant, distracting from the song as a whole. The album’s mixing presents some competing elements, instead of complementing. –but I guess that’s black war metal, right? Fukk Yes! From start to finish this album is an aural assault! Completely grabbing and holding on to my attention, ending with a seemingly Sodom inspired riff in Kill Them All.

DIABOLIC NIGHT - Beneath the Crimson Prophecy  2023y.

Tuetonic thrash comes ripping!
Diabolic Night brings us a new album, “Beneath The Crimson Prophecy” that mixes old school thrash with some hybrid elements of both black and heavy metal.  The tight cutting guitar riffs and wisely paced drumming set the canvas for the gravely, discernible vocals. At many points the speed slows for melodic intervals and makes room for some tasteful lead work. This is obviously German songwriting, in the vein of Desaster with influences from Destruction and Sodom. There’s plenty of fist banging parts, and at times I found that I couldn’t help myself from driving faster and faster on the country roads as I jammed this album.
I especially like the calm atmospheric outro of Starlit Skies which breaks over into a classic thrash gallop of Vicious Assault.

===================

Sarke’s album Endo Feight caught me by surprise.  I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but as I settled into  the tracks I became comfortable with the mid pace music and gritty vocals. It was a pleasant vibe to feel on the first chilly evening of what has been a very hot summer. This album has some symphonic moments, and some discordant hooks of a Satyricon ilk, a nice change from everything else I’ve been hearing lately.
Endo Feight is far from a sing-songy folly like Babylon Whores, and not like whatever Amorphous started doing with Eligy, but does arguably fit into a crossover genre with those bands, though more towards the gothic end of the spectrum.  Endo Feight offers some inspiringly contemplative moments where the music drops back to nearly spoken word vocals. After one such interlude in the ending of the song Lost, they follow with a minute of gentle guitar in Abyssal Echos, allowing the early half of the album to be absorbed, excellent choice of track order!
As I get further into the album, Old Town Sinner drew my attention with  moments that took me back to seeing The Gathering after Mandylion came out, later in the song the pokey structured guitar lead was a little unexpected, but somehow quite fitting. I Destroyed the Cosmos has an opening riff that might as well have been written by John Christ in 1992. Musically, the predominantly gentle sound and pace of this album allows the listener to ponder the tales of dread and fear expressed in the lyrics. The album is understated in many ways, yet it hasn’t let go of me since first spin.
I’m going to revisit this album on cool summer nights, absorbing the lyrics as I watch the trees sway against the white moonlight.

Discorporate - '' That Which Is Not ''  - Full-length , September 7th, 2023

Calm riffs at the beginning introduce us to the unknown, where halfway through we start to step towards the left, the style of 1996 from the time of the best albums of that time, "Cosmic Fugitive", gives us a big kick, but also shows the musical skill of these two. It's not dull, aggressive Black Metal, but rather technical in the good sense of the word. It's hard, and it's good, not to compare it with other groups, we hear different styles here, perfectly woven into the whole, professional performance. It's amazing how two musicians could record such a perfect album. If you miss it, you won't understand the entire style of Black Metal, this album has everything it should have. For me, after the first listen, it's number 1 this year. One more thing -  recommend it to others and worship Satan.

NOCTURNAL EXORCISM - REH DEMO 2024

1.    Never Rest in Peace
2.    Hopeless Betrayal
3.    Heart of Pure Ice
4.    Die in the Name of Satan
5.    Rampage
6.    Eternal Silence
7.    Black Moon, the Unlight

I love this rehearsal room production! Nocturnal Exorcism’s mid-paced Black Metal really shines here.  The pounding drums drive every song, without overtaking the entire mix. Modest guitar work perfectly ties together the mood of each song with the (slightly too low volume) vocals. These vocals are reminiscent of Legion from Marduk, and I guess I’m even hearing a bit of a Marduk sound with tempered intensity.
In Heart Of Pure Ice, as well as other places they sound like they are allowing in some Tuetonic  influence. Rampage may be my favorite song, with a thrash drum gallop and several changes of song-pace. There’s some real fist banging moments in here!
Someone buy these Finnish dudes some plane tickets and provide the backline, get them to a club near you!
