1. Hello, quite a young band, come on, you already have experience in several large-scale bands. How did you find the time to record an EP together?

V. Hi, it's true, each of us has been working in music for years - me mainly in post-punk / goth rock climates (undertheskin, Deathcamp Project), and Marcello in several prominent metal projects (e.g. Haxandroak, Acherontas, Besatt, Inferno, Beuten ). Our meeting was in a sense a coincidence, although I am of the opinion that nothing happens by chance and our paths crossed exactly when they should have. Wolfpath was originally supposed to be my solo project with a drum machine. In fact, this is how the demo material was created, which I sent to a group of "litmus" friends. Among them was Marek (vocalist of, among others, Offence, Witchfuck, Beuten), who spoke very positively about my music and strongly encouraged me to find a drummer. Honestly, I didn't need much encouragement (there's no dumber thing in metal than a drum machine!), but I didn't know anyone who made sense, and I didn't care about a musician for hire. So I asked Marek for recommendations, and he pointed me to Marcel without much thought. We got in touch and it quickly turned out that we had a similar outlook on life and music - he liked the material and soon became Wolfpath's drummer.

2. EP released this year, contains 6 tracks. What are they talking about, some history, please

V. Wolfpath's debut is a tribute to the elements, placed in the context of a very personal story. I write lyrics spontaneously, letting the music carry them to the right place. This is how the debut material was created - words driven by music created a concept based on anger, strength, fall and rebirth.

3. Most instruments controlled by VOID. Did Marcelo also create something or did he just add drums ?

V. In fact, all the instruments - apart from the drums - I recorded myself, but the statement "Only the drums were added" is a big simplification. First of all - drums are an extremely difficult and demanding instrument. In my opinion, vocals and drums are the key factors in music - a bit like spirit and body. Secondly, maybe it's not a super hard task to hire a drummer who will "drum", erase and move on ... But such an approach would be completely at odds with the idea of Wolfpath. I was looking for a person equally involved in music and thinking similarly. Marcelo is - as well as - a fan of black metal and himself devoted to music, and his involvement in Wolfpath made the drum parts exude passion, strength and energy that significantly enlivened and completed this album.

4. You're from Warsaw. Is there a bunch of buddies fascinates like you, how it used to be?

V. I live near Warsaw, and Marcello in Silesia. Is there a package I don't think so. Are we fascinated? Definitely yes. I see both of us more in the category of lone wolves, which fits perfectly with the idea of Wolfpath. Our paths crossed for a very specific purpose…

5. Tell us something about the music, how did you create it, or only home-made?

V. I recorded music in my home studio - this is also where the first mixes were created. I put emphasis on the unconventional and non-plugin sound of guitars - largely based on fuzz (eg DBA - Fuzz War) and the iconic Boss HM2. The hierarchy of the mix is also unusual - I love the bass guitar and I think that it has always been a very marginalized instrument in metal music - I am glad that this trend has been clearly changing in recent years. For me, the bass sound is absolutely key in Wolfpath and I built the guitar layer around it, and not the other way around, as it usually happens. As I mentioned, the first mixes were recorded with a drum machine and I handed over these versions to Marcel, who, after developing his parts, recorded them in a friend's studio in Silesia. The final mix and mastering took place in the legendary Heinrich House Studio under the watchful eye and ear of As - Filip Hałucha

6. War, crisis, coronavirus, politics. How does it affect your private and artistic life?

V. You know what, I have a rather moderate opinion on the pandemic that has been going on for 3 years - a deadly disease that miraculously disappeared and ceased to threaten us almost overnight ... War, well - they say that black metal is war and I think I would wish everyone only black metal wars. Unfortunately, much more serious matters are happening here and I am sorry that we have reached such a moment when our idyllic existence has been disturbed. First the covid cloud, then the war in Ukraine, and consequently global destabilization and living in an increasing sense of fear.

Of course, Covid affected my artistic life - if only because all planned concerts and festivals of my Undertheskin project were canceled or moved by several months. On the other hand, I had much more time for studio activities and work on Wolfpath, for example. Privately - it was quite a strange experience - the first lockdown and ubiquitous panic. The last sensitive chord of opportunistic society has been struck, because what? "Health is the most important" and boom - a bullet straight into what is most valuable. I definitely appreciated living outside the city - I didn't panic - I did shopping in small shops, I didn't use public transport - I also worked professionally all the time. Certainly, it was a period when the earth, wild animals could take a little rest from the hyperactivity of man. It was clearly felt and needed. I tried to enjoy this silence and in that sense it was a very precious time. It was also a moment of another division into "us and them" - many friendships were verified - suddenly everyone became experts in the field of virology, vaccinations, etc ... Well, that was over - now we have new topics - expert knowledge on geopolitics, war and and weapons…

7. Any chance to buy your material on cd or only for free on YT and your website?

V. Of course - I'm in the process of preparing graphics for the cassette and CD release, the premiere of which is planned for spring 2023. For now, Wolfpath can be listened to via bandcamp, soundcloud and of course Youtube.

8. The last howl of the wolf is yours! Thanks for your time, thanks for the interview!

V. Thank you for this now legendary, because the first interview in the band's history! There will be no last howl - because it is not the time - we have only just begun the hunt. Thank you for your time and welcome to WOLFPATH's debut album!

Browsing YT I came across the LEPROZORIUM group. I turned on the video and something flashed in my head, my legs felt the blood circulating in them and my hair, still long, began to swirl from left to right.

1. Let's start from the beginning. What does your name mean and how long have you been playing together?

- Our name means leper colonies or hospitals. Our friend Lucy from Tassack came up with the name of the band. The original idea was CuntRipper, but we thought it was too funny. We've been playing together for almost a year and a half. The idea for the band was born on the drummer's birthday on October 29, 2021. The guitarists, while talking, mentioned that they would like to play in bands and that's how the idea was born. Cezary proposed to the dying Jakub by the bonfire to start a band. After three months, Ziemowit joined the team.

2. As I checked you have only two issues already published. Will there be more and when?

-This year we plan to release more material, which will also be available on a physical copy. We will not reveal the dates at the moment.

3. I was captivated by the way of playing, this style, as if from the past, and yet it is now 2023. How did you come up with this style?

-From the beginning we knew more or less what we wanted to play. We found a common denominator in the sounds of the bands we listen to together.

4. No information about you on metal.archives. Can you tell us where the band is from and what are your connections to music? Have you played anywhere?

- We are from Wrocław. Apart from Cezary, everyone played in other bands. However, the drummer is also still active in Nexus and recently in Abuser. Currently we played two concerts in Wrocław and one in Poznań. We already have a few concerts planned, including at Siekiera Fest, sharing the stage with : Terrordome, Unborn Suffer or Pestilence.

5. I will ask for the composition. This is also a secret!

-The composition is not a secret. Albert Matuszny - vocals/guitar Cezary Koszarek - guitar Jakub Klimkiewicz - drums Ziemowit Poliszewski - bass

6. In one of the published numbers you play a concert with two songs? explain it!

-We have more tracks. Currently, we have prepared material for 40 minutes of playing.

7. How long will we wait for the CD and where will it be available for purchase with gadgets?

-How long? We leave this information to ourselves. You will be able to buy directly from us or at our concerts. We have patches now!

8. Thank you for the interview. The last words are yours!

-Get thrashed and Grind 'Em All .

1. Hello, I'm going to ask you some not everyday questions from various fields. 1997 What memories do you have of that period and how much has changed since 2004?

We don't have many memories of that period, but one of the best memories we had was that we played to a lot of people at our concerts and were invited to state television. But unfortunately, we have never been able to reach those recordings of the TV show on the state television so far and we are still trying to reach them. One of the bad memories was that our previous vocalist let the band down and disappeared for no reason a week before the recording of the album we were going to release in 2004. Due to this irresponsibility of his, we could not release the album in 2004 and the band entered the process of disbanding. And a lot has changed since 2004, because we got back together after 17 years, but this time the previous vocalist is not in the band, instead, the vocalist of “Forgotten” (another Turkish band) Harun joined us, and Sermon found the vocalist it was looking for and added strength to its strength. There is a lot of difference between the music we made 19 years ago and the music we are making now, because when our band got back together, it had a new line-up, and I think we all have made a very good album by combining all our musical skills and ideas for this album so far. None of the songs on this album have any of the works we have done in the past, all of the songs are our new compositions.

2. 2021 another change in life, memories and another step forward into a new future with a baggage of the past. You're back to playing, creating, but my question is of a different kind.

Everyone asks this - your experiences and experiences with Covid 19? What effect did that have on you?

We evaluated this period by making our songs for the album at home and we had quite a lot of time for this.
The only negative effect of this period for us was that we had a very difficult time finding a record label because many labels were not in good shape financially and were not releasing albums due to the effect of the pandemic.
Many of them said that they did not have enough financial resources to release the album, while others were asking us for a fee to release the album.
For these reasons, it took a lot of time for us to find a label to release the album physically. Later, we have agreed with Bitume Productions from France to physically release our album.

3. Türkiye is a culturally, religiously and socially diverse country. (ps: you have already been in Poland historically - our - king Jan Sobieski rushed you near Vienna).

You don't have a big music scene, does it give you wings or take them away to rise to the top of your music career?

Yes, the metal scene in Turkey seems to be small, but we have good bands. Perhaps the fact that our scene looks small may be due to the fact that other countries do not give our bands a chance to play in their countries. Because there are very few Turkish bands playing in Europe and other countries.
It seems that the small scene in our country may be advantageous for us, but I must say that it is not easy.
Although Turkey has a good metal audience, there is a monopolized metal scene dominated by selfishness in every field.
Clearly, I can't say that we have a lot of support in our own country. While everyone in Europe and around the world is giving an amazing feedback for Sermon and supporting us, unfortunately, in our own country, less people are talking about Sermon. Some people seem to abstain suppoting Sermon in purpose. For this reason, we are not interested in this scene that ignores us.
In a metal scene where everyone declares their own kingdom, there is very little chance of making a career unless Sermon is given a chance. Therefore, it is best to try our luck in other countries...

4. We are culturally different but we all have one thing in common - Metal Music in this case.

Do you think Metal is a tight cordon of homophobic manifestations, or do you think it is open to other manifestations?

Metal music is a kind of music that is open to everything and every idea. Because everyone can make music in the genres and ideas they want. There are no limitations in metal music and its genres. For this reason, bands that make music clearly express the ideas they want.
But in my opinion, Metal music should not be a means of propaganda for these dangerous ideas you are talking about. Music is an instrument-transmitted version of feelings and emotions, not a propaganda tool for dangerous ideas. Those who have such dangerous ideas should not make music, let them express their ideas on other platforms.
It is music that unites us all in a common point and language, so why they use it for bad purposes, I can't make sense of it.

5. They compare you to Paradise Lost
How would you define your music, what is it about and what is it about?

I am not complaining that the music made by our band is commemorated with Paradise Lost. After all, they are one of the biggest bands of this genre, and there are not many bands like them making high-quality music in this genre today. If we can make quality music like them, then we are on the right track Hahahaha 🙂
But we are not imitating them, they are one of the biggest bands that have influenced us musically. For me, it is impossible for bands that make the same kind of music to make music without being influenced by them.
Because Paradise Lost is a big band that affects all the bands of this genre and forms a school of this genre.
We can be inspired by everything when we make music.
While making music, we do not limit ourselves by focusing on a certain genre and we try to reflect the different inspired feelings we all feel in our music as partners.
Lyrically, Sermon is trying to reflect happenings, the sensational things we go through in life, personal thoughts and feelings we experience. Cosmic and celestial issues, natural disasters and dilemmas are among our topics when creating the songs.

6. In conclusion, I wish you many successes and invite you to concerts in my country in Poland, as you can see, fans like your music. Poland is open to different kinds of music. Thank you for the interview.

Thanks so much for the great interview.  They were good questions.  I hope the organizers there,  will take care of us to play in Poland and we will play there.  We look forward to meeting our fans there.  Many thanks to everyone who read the interview and greetings from Türkiye. Keep supporting us!
